Experienced Bangladesh all-rounder and former captain Salma Khatun is looking for her first win against Pakistan in the World Cup.

The disappointing defeat against South Africa, the helpless surrender in front of the host New Zealand - this is the brief performance of the Bangladesh women's cricket team in their first ODI World Cup so far.

Despite losing the first two matches, Bangladesh has a chance to win the third match.  Nigar Sultana Jyoti's team will face Pakistan in Hamilton on Monday at 4 am Bangladesh time.

In this match, Bangladesh team is looking for a chance to win against Pakistan for the first time.

"We know them very well," captain Jyoti told a pre-match press conference on Sunday.

I have played several matches against them.  So there are good ideas.  I think we have a good chance to win our first World Cup. "

Such remarks by the Tigers captain are not meant to be said at all.  So far, Bangladesh women's team has won a total of 13 matches in ODI cricket.

Pakistan was the opponent in 5 of them.  Bangladesh have won all three of their last four matches against them.

With that confidence, Jyoti declared himself ready to beat Pakistan, saying, "We (Hamilton) have had a good practice session here.  We also got a good rest.  So the players are fully prepared for the next match. '

Updating the players of the team, he said, "Everyone is very good and looking forward to playing against Pakistan.

We've played Nelson and Dunedin, we've seen a lot of matches here (Hamilton) too ... the pitch seemed more or less the same.  I think the pitch will be good. '

Asked to evaluate the performance of the first two matches, Jyoti said, "In my opinion, the way the girls have played in the last two matches has been great.

Maybe the fruit did not come for us.  Yet I think there have been improvements in many places.  Which we have seen in the last two matches. '

He added, "Everyone was brilliant in the way they bowled against South Africa.  Also the batting against New Zealand was great.  So if we can implement it in batting-bowling as planned then nothing great will happen in the next match.
