Ross Taylor could not paint the farewell match
Legendary New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor played his last match in international cricket. However, Taylor could not do anything special in the last match with the bat.
Taylor made his international debut in 2006. He has been playing cricket for 16 years. Taylor was a big name in New Zealand, especially in the number four batting position. That Taylor ended international cricket after 16 long years.
The Test series against Bangladesh was the last Test match of Taylor's career. As announced earlier, the ODI series against the Netherlands at home will be his last series. The Netherlands cricket team gave the guard of honor in the third ODI in Hamilton.
Batting first after winning the toss, New Zealand lost to Henry Nichols early on. In the second pair, Guptill and Young led the team towards a big score. They batted for a long time but everyone was waiting for Taylor to come down to bat.
203 runs came from Guptill-Young pair. Guptill was dismissed in the 39th over for his 16th ODI century. Taylor was greeted with a round of applause as he stepped down. Even the cricketers of the Netherlands set a unique example with the ‘Guard of Honor’.
He made 14 runs from 16 balls in his last match. After Guptill scored a century, Young was looking forward to completing the century. Young finally met the desired century. Since it was Taylor's farewell match, the spectators were waiting for a special innings from him.
But where is it! He returned to the dressing room after playing an innings of 14 off 16 balls with Van Beek's 253 for the team. Despite not being able to play a big innings in his last match, the spectators were able to give him the respect he deserved by applauding him when he left the field.
New Zealand scored 333 runs for the loss of 6 wickets at the end of Young's 120 and Bracewell's 22 and Latham's 23 runs. Klaassen, Van Beek, Floyd and Arian took two wickets each for the Netherlands.
